Executive Director, Indiana Recycling Coalition

The Indiana Recycling Coalition is a state-wide organization dedicated to bringing together businesses, trade associations, government entities, academia and individuals to advance waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting in Indiana. With a strong voice at the statehouse, the IRC has advanced policies that have created new green jobs and conserved energy and resources. IRC hosts an annual conference and programs such as the Lend A Bin program and the Student Recycling Leadership Corps scholarship program.


The Indiana Recycling Coalition is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to continue the organization's momentum of working toward a more sustainable Indiana. This individual will passionately promote recycling by addressing state-wide recycling issues, raising funds necessary to accomplish the IRC's mission and building a stronger voice through its partners. This person will serve as a leader and champion for recycling efforts in the State and offer a seasoned voice on policy related issues. A bachelor's degree with significant industry experience in recycling, sustainability or environmental advocacy is desired.

Field Chemist/Waste Coordinator, SET Environmental

SET Environmental is looking for a field chemical / waste coordinator at their Mooresville, IN office.

​

POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Field Chemist / Waste Coordinator at SET Environmental is responsible for:

  • Handling, packing, transportation and disposal of hazardous wastes and chemicals at various customer locations

  • Preparing regulatory paperwork to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and internal procedures

  • Waste characterization, sampling and profiling of waste streams

  • Track wastes in the 10-day hazardous waste transfer facility

  • Housekeeping in waste storage area, which includes required inspections and quality control of outgoing loads prior to leaving the site

  • Preparing shipments to SET and other established waste vendors

  • Ensuring the load is acceptable per DOT regulations and requirements

  • Tracking the material once it leaves the site up until the return manifest copy is received

  • Performing other miscellaneous duties as necessary

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or related field

  • 2+ years of practical field experience in the hazardous waste industry, preferred

  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office

  • Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e. 40 hour HAZWOPER training, forklift certification, medical certification including respirator use)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more

  • Must be highly motivated with strong problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have knowledge of all RCRA and DOT regulations
