Jason graduated from Ball State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Management and subsequently worked for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management as a spill line phone duty officer and emergency responder. In 2011, Jason joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Emergency Branch On-Scene Coordinator (OSC). As OSC in Region 5, Jason coordinates planning and preparedness for environmental spills at the Patoka River Area Planning Committee, conducts oil storage facility inspections, coordinates removal assessment and removal actions under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), and directs response actions under the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan. Jason co-chairs EPA’s national Emergency Management Information Technology Workgroup as well as Region 5 ER Branch’s Data Team.
