Earth Day Indiana Festival
Below are the details for the volunteer opportunity!
Earth Day Indiana Festival: Saturday, May 30th at Garfield Park, 2345 Pagoda Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46203
Volunteer shifts: 9:30 AM -1:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

We will have interactive exhibits on:

Wetlands/runoff: demonstrate how to wetlands help our environment

Air and vapor sampling: collect a sub-slab sample in a Tedlar bag and talk about vapor intrusion

Geology/Archeology: dig in the sand to find fossils and talk about cultural studies

Investigation/remediation: demonstrate how to investigate a contaminated gas station site and have attendees use a PID to find the hots spot and how to collect a groundwater sample by bailing a “well”
*We are still in need of several afternoon volunteers!
